The acquisition, at the age of 16, of his first wooden boat to be restored undoubtedly drove Olivier Cambier to start studying as a navigator in the Merchant Navy in 1985.
An immersion in the nautical world, with all its values to which he remains indefectibly attached. On land, he then combined his passion for restoring old wooden boats with that of renovating old mechanics, both motorbikes and cars.
After his first Poncelet boat came a number of Cadenazzi, Arcangelly, Century, ChrisCraft, Boesch, Riva, GarWood, etc., who have enriched the company with a wide and varied experience and an excellent international network of knowledge.
When it comes to vintage machinery, his heart beats mainly for those from the '30s to the '70s, but every exciting project, each one crazier than the next, is always treated with the same fervour and the desire to succeed, whatever the difficulties. His collection even includes a magnificent fire engine from 1957!
A spell managing the Namur Marina in the early 2000s and setting up the Namourettes river service convinced Olivier to settle in Namur, his home town, and to remain loyal to this beautiful city at the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers.
In 2021, with the aim of setting up his new workshop, he restored and brought back to life a former depot of the "Malonne Port" vicinal tramway dating from 1892 and named after the old route of the nearby Sambre, the circle is complete.
